The price for wisdom is very high. The spiritual journey is not
easy and generally requires that we go through a whole host
of tragic events. There is so much in life that our most
intelligent pondering and analysis cannot understand; we just
have to let it go. Otherwise we become so frozen in the past
that we cannot re-make our future

What we can be is a predictor of possibilities, but is not a guarantor, of what we will be. When we realize this, let us realize too that the race is not to the swift, but to them that endure

We need to develop a philosophy of failure as well as success, for it is such a frequent, and paradoxically, a necessary part of our lives. It too, has its positive as well as its negative meanings

If after all the hard climbing and breathless breathings you
still have not achieved your goal and others seem to have
passed you by, just pause for a moment and remember that
God does not balance his books on Friday

It is the quest, not the phenomena around the quest, that
is important

When the evening of your life arrives, and your steps become slow and hesitant, and you at last lay you down to sleep for the last time, may you hear this gentle refrain, “Well done, thou good and
faithful servant.”
