Our capacity to suffer is a testimony
of the godliness in our humanness

There are many conflicting attractions vying for our allegiance.
To pursue them all is not the inclusiveness we think it is, but
assures a life that is fragmented and ambiguous, and we will
become mere dilettantes and never get to know any one thing
well

Not all things bright and beautiful, not all things wise and
wonderful, not all things nice and appealing, are good for
us because they obscure the dark side, lull us into a false
sense of security believing the niceties are the whole of it

Participating in the common, ordinary, mundane tasks of life, but
doing it with finesse and charm, is part of our spiritual journey

The constant search for ecstasies, new paths to follow or
popular satisfactions will not only lessen our spiritual
development but sabotage our human becoming

If you grow weary in accomplishing your goal, as sometimes you will,
and thoughts of easier possibilities enter your mind, perhaps you are
being distracted from your divine purpose. At such times it is well to
remember the poetic words of Sophocles: “One must wait until the
evening to see how splendid the day has been.”

The impetus of soul to connect with Soul is the supreme
affinity. To obey that calling is to align one’s self to the highest and best.
To ignore it, or to denigrate it is to be less than we can be

The Supreme Soul beckons to that which it loves. But if you don’t
want it, it will grant your request

I think I'm one of the people trying to do common, ordinary things with finesse and charm. How am I doing?
