It is not your prayers, or your scripture reading, or your words, or your promises, or your church attendance which impress me, but how you act.

All the ingredients for happiness is given right here on earth. But so is misery. Are you making a cake or just mixing mud?

It’s great to have an open mind. But don’t let people throw garbage in it.

Some people have just never learned to discern the difference between intellect and intelligence.

Some people have diarrhea of the mouth. Just because they have more to say does not mean they have more of the truth.

If your battery is weak or run down, get it recharged instead of throwing it out.

Yes, we need to stand alone. Yes, we need to be strong. But sometimes we grow weary and weak. At such times do not be afraid to lean on someone.

We may be mature in some things, even a lot of things. But we are not mature in all things. That should not, however, discourage us to keep trying.

Becoming better and better does not mean you won’t have a few setbacks.

Do not make a decision when you are in a downtime.

People generally do not grow in a continual line upward, but in a jerky fashion through hills and valleys. However, people who are committed keep on keeping on.

Commitment enables one to have more courage. Getting into the habit of giving up deprives one of both commitment and courage.

Its not the short term pleasures which give us happiness, but keeping our eye on the long-range goal.

When you look up you see the sky. When you look down you see only dirt.

Why is it when we feel our bodies are dirty we wash it, but neglect to clean our minds and souls.

Don’t be misled into believing that just because you can’t see it, it doesn’t exist.

Marry someone who is a friend to your moods.
